Laura has produced three Limited Edition original reproductions to date, with several presently on the drawing table. Each limited edition has been crafted with Laura’s hallmark style. Chalk pastels on a rare and unique paper are the primary media Laura elects to use for this specialized and unparalleled technique. Using the background colour of her brown paper as part of the subject, Laura applies the chalk pastel strokes only where light strikes the subject matter. In this way only portions of the drawing are complete, yet the eye compensates to complete the image in the viewer’s mind. This hauntingly beautiful “negative” technique creates a moody and exquisitely subdued effect. Time and movement seem to have been stopped, and yet the image still breathes life, delivering a feeling of cool morning mist. Each Limited Edition Print or Poster
