Laura Wilson, Artist
Laura has been working in the area of animal portraiture since 1988 and has produced a large number of original works that are displayed in the homes of animal lovers the world over. Her commissioned work includes several portraits, most notably Toshiba Canada’s presentation to Ian Miller at the 1988 Seoul Olympics.

Laura is also the official artist for Ralston Purina Canada’s Hall of Fame, for whom she has illustrated many of the heroic animals recognized each year for their bravery and intelligence.

Yearly Exhibitions
She began showing her work at the Royal Winter Fair, Quarterama, and other prominent fairs and shows in Ontario. Laura is now a yearly regular exhibitor at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto, where she received the prestigious “Best Booth in Show” award in 2001.

Unparalled Attention to Detail
People are attracted to Laura’s work by her attention to detail, the uncanny accuracy and use of colour, and the manner in which she captures not only the look of each animal, but their presence and personality as well, making the animal come to life on paper.

Laura is a graduate of the Ontario College of Art in illustration and design. She shares a small hobby farm in Utopia, Ontario with her husband, two young children, two horses, Great Dane and four cats. Her family shares her love of animals and the outdoors. An accomplished equestrian who enjoys competitive trail riding, Laura, when not drawing, spends as much time as possible with her horses in the extensive forests surrounding her home.
